Our Story

Founded in 1992, the Allen Reed Company has been an innovator in the food service and housewares industries for more than three decades. In 1994, the company invented the first-ever metal safe cutting blade for commercial boxes of plastic wrap used throughout the food service industry. Today, millions of these blades are sold annually to manufacturers of commercial plastic wrap products.

In 2001, the company invented and patented the slide cutter for plastic wrap boxes in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Originally developed for commercial food service applications, the slide cutter quickly became a preferred solution for safer, easier, and more efficient food wrap dispensing. Over time, the innovation expanded into the consumer market, becoming a staple in home kitchens across the country.

Building on this success, the company launched the ChicWrap® brand in 2013, introducing a full line of reusable dispensers for plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and parchment paper. Known for combining functionality with stylish designs, ChicWrap® has grown into a recognized retail housewares brand available in stores nationwide and through major online retailers including Amazon and Walmart.
